SEGMENTED EXAMS

PLEASE READ THIS PAGE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE EXAMINATION HOME PAGE

Segmented exam delivery is currently available for all INS, AIC and ARM exams administered at The Bermuda Insurance Institute.

Please note:

  • Segment exams are only available for INS, AIC and ARM exams

  • Segment exams are given during existing BII testing windows

  • Segment exams contain the same questions as full length exams

  • Segment exams cover only 3-5 assignments at a time

  • Segment exams are only one hour long

  • Students can take multiple segments in the same testing window

  • Students who do not pass a segment can apply to retake within the same testing window provided there is an exam slot available

  • Successful completion of all the segment exams for a given course earns credit for the entire course

Study materials are not divided into segments – students must purchase the standard textbook and course guide for segmented exams. See the chart below or the corresponding course guide for a listing of assignments* per segmented exam.   * please note that the exam segments are based on course guide assignments, the numbering of which may not correspond to the chapter numbers in the text book.  Please read your course guide first so you know which chapters to study for each segment and refer to the AICPCU link above to ensure that the segments as detailed below have not changed.

NOTE 1) If a student does not finish taking all the exam segments by year's end AND the study materials are revised, beginning in January, the student will need to purchase new materials in order to finish taking the exam segments.  Study Material changes are released by the IIA/AICPCU www.aicpcu.org every August for the following year.

NOTE 2) Segment exams cannot be transferred to different testing windows and cancellation credit is not available.

Registration for segmented exams is the same as for full length exams and must be done through the BII and during the BII's exam registration windows.

The cost per segment and assignments are shown in the chart below.  These are valid for 2010.  When filling out the exam registration form it is very important that you clearly mark what segment you are taking ie: INS23 A, ARM55 B etc.
